Peace & Love & 5 Rockin Bands in One
At the Toledo Zoo Amphitheater, a great venue again, Ringo & All Stars did not disappoint! An interesting concept and wasn't sure what to expect, but seeing WWE perform on the Grammys, we just had to see him them in person. Wow! Luckily a friend told us what to expect, and to be there at the scheduled show time, as they will come on exactly at that time and play straight through for 2 hours..no opening act.
Ringo clearly still loves to perform, looks great, and his "band" seems to love to play with him. Everyone will know at least one of these songs! It was like having Beatles, Toto, Mr Mister, Todd Rungren and Santana, all playing their hits in one show. Like Ringo said, and after years of showing together, they were one TIGHT rockin band and included: Todd Rundgren, Steve Lukather (Toto); Gregg Rolie (Santana and Journey); Richard Page (Mr. Mister); Warren Ham (Bloodrock); and Gregg Bissonette. Ringo was strong and energetic in his solos, oldies and new songs, and then alternated playing drums for the other stars.
Our seats were WAY back and off to the side, even though I had ordered seats online as a "zoo member" in a pre-public release, as soon as access was available. But we could hear very well, and we were very glad that we were there. Seems like all good seats were sold/held before the pre-release. Definately a great time, and the crowd was mostly well behaved and attentive. Its good that Ringo is still performing and bringing the message of peace and love in this troubled time.
